Lots of Christmas Singing!

The lead up to Christmas was busy with Bethany using her gorgeous vocal chords to sing lots of lovely Christmas songs. Earlier in the year Bethany joined the school choir and has been enjoying singing as much as she can, and with Christmas coming the school had planned for her choir group to join a few other schools and sing some songs at the annual Carols In The Park event, which was exciting for all of us!

The weather was fantastic and the crowd grew and grew as the night went on. Having a live band for music makes such a difference to an event like this – and they were amazing too. Difficult to spot Bethany on the video, but she is just behind the girl with the white dress on in the front row on the right. Bethany loved her moment in the limelight – she has said she cant wait for next year!

Then a week later it was more singing at the local Community Christmas event where Bethany sung even louder and happier with her fellow Brownie members, and then with the school choir again - she loved it all!

Also in that short space of time Bethany finished school for the six week summer holidays – and on the last day at school they had another singalong, with short plays and all sorts of fun things that the children participated in. The children performed a Kapa Haka and its so amazing to see them all learning the Maori language – including Macarena which made us all giggle. Ending the event with a Haka – always a very emotional act, seems even more so when you see children doing it for some reason.

Of course most of these video’s may only appeal to our family, or those of you who enjoy Christmas songs after Christmas!

And so the six weeks school summer holidays arrived, and the big countdown to 2012 – surely that can only lead to even more adventures…
