Trip 2013 – Barnard Castle

My parents live in a very beautiful part of the world. Barnard Castle is a little market town in Teesdale, County Durham and gets its name from the lovely Castle that is now adorning the town with its ruins. If you need a dose of old style country town this is the place to be, the wonderful stone built homes rest alongside the River Tees which winds its way through the countryside and along the castle ruins, creating a very striking view.

We had a wonderful day wandering the town, you truly have to appreciate the feeling of being around so much history, yet now very much operating in a modern way.
